Terms of Use

By using Columbus County Inmate Population, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.

Columbus County Inmate Population is privately owned and is not affiliated with any sheriff, jail, court, corrections department, or government agency. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provide consumer reports, background checks, private investigation services, or FCRA-covered screening for credit, employment, insurance, housing, tenant placement, or similar decisions.

What This Site Provides

This website is a private reference resource. It does not store official jail records, booking photos, warrants, court files, or prison records, and it cannot confirm custody, release anyone, accept filings, or change a government record.

The site points users toward Columbus County jail records, court-record sources, NCDAC tools, federal and ICE locator channels, and outside search services.

Acceptable Use

  • Do not use the site in a way that violates any law.
  • Do not use information found through this site to stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate anyone.
  • Do not use site content for hiring, firing, housing, lending, insurance, or other regulated screening decisions.
  • Do not try to access systems or data without authorization.
  • Do not use bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools against the site.
  • Do not interfere with site availability or another visitor's use of the site.

No Consumer Reporting Use

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide consumer reports, background checks, credit reports, or screening services. You agree not to use information from this site or linked partner tools for FCRA-covered purposes, including:

  • Employment decisions, including hiring, firing, promotion, or discipline.
  • Tenant screening or housing eligibility.
  • Credit decisions, insurance pricing, or financial eligibility.
  • Licensing, permits, public benefits, or government-program eligibility where consumer-reporting rules apply.
  • Any other purpose regulated by the FCRA or similar law.

Outside Links

The site links to sheriff pages, jail reports, North Carolina Judicial Branch resources, NCDAC pages, federal and ICE locators, VINE, legal information, and third-party search providers. Those websites control their own records, availability, fees, privacy practices, and terms. A link does not mean endorsement or responsibility for that outside service.

No Warranties

The site is provided as is and as available. No warranty is made that:

  • Information is complete, accurate, or current.
  • Access will be uninterrupted.
  • Pages will be free of errors, bugs, or security issues.
  • Partner search tools will return full or correct results.

Custody status and public records change often. Nothing on this site is an official statement from the Columbus County Sheriff's Office, the courts, NCDAC, BOP, ICE, or any government office. Public-records access in North Carolina, including N.C. Gen. Stat. 132-1 and 132-1.4, may also limit what an agency can release.

Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Columbus County Inmate Population is not liable for damages or losses related to use of the site, reliance on site content, inability to access the site, outside links, partner tools, or actions taken by government offices.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the site harmless from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees that arise from your use of the site or your violation of these terms.

Intellectual Property

The site's text, layout, graphics, logos, and code belong to Columbus County Inmate Population or its content partners unless otherwise stated. Do not copy, distribute, sell, modify, or republish site materials without written permission.

If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in effect. The invalid part will be adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
